Domain Name Information

If you want your own Domain Name, we can get you one by paying us an additional $50.  Or, if you already have a name, it will cost $25 to transfer it.  Or sign up yourself for you domain name!

You will be responsible for the Domain Name registration fee of $70 for two years to Network Solutions (annual renewal is $35 starting at year 3).

Your Domain Name can take the following forms:

www.your_name.com (commercial organizations)

www.your_name.org (typically nonprofit organizations)

your_name.org

your_name.com

We recommend using the "www" prefix, because it identifies a web site.  To find out if the name you want is available, check out our
 DNS sign-up page.

Don't use the "www" prefix for the "whois" search [Instead, type in your_name.com or your_name.org   Use only letters, numbers, underlines, and dashes in your_name].  Try them both.   If the name is not taken, no owner will appear.
